Matkaman Comics

Matkaman is an inspirational retired man in Delhi trying to inspire the community to help each other by leading through example. He conducts a wide range of charitable activities within his own geographical community in South Delhi. The most significant and visible of his activities is the placement of large clay pots called matkas in Hindi (hence the name), across South Delhi and maintains them with drinking water.

Matkaman also happens to be my father. A politically aware, thoughtful and philosophical man who sometimes feels deeply paralysed by the human condition and all the pain and suffering in the world. In this comic series, I hope to use his relationship with our dog to explore his politics and uncover some of the questions that plague him in a lighthearted but meaningful way.
