Mecca2Medina Story Writing Weekend

As you may know, I have been working on a documentary project about 1990s British-Islamic hip-hop group Mecca2Medina (www.mecca2medinafilm.co.uk). On the weekend of 23rd October 2022 the four of us working on the project – Rakin, Aminah, Eliot, and myself – sat down to really identify what this story is about. It was quite an arduous process because the film could be about so many things. It took us two 9-5 working days to settle on the following, which we all feel happy and confident about:

Mecca2Medina and a New Islam in Britain

Mecca2Medina are a hip-hop band who emerged in the 1990s. Through their journey, they contributed to the development of a new British-Islamic culture.
