Term 1 at Rumi’s Cave Art Club
Last year I recieved Arts Council England Funding to run an Art Club at Rumi’s Cave from January to July this year. More information here.
The project went off to a bumpy start because of the lockdown but, with a slight delay, we made Term 1 happen and engaged 13 students through Online Zoom Classes and Art by Post packages. We reallocated the room hire funding and some of the staff costs towards materials and the children loved receiving the mail via post.
For 6 weeks we looked at outer space and the planets. They were given sketchbooks, glue, scissors, crayons, pens and collage materials. At the end we even designed some small tote bags with permanent markers. To celebrate the end of the term we hosted a small Easter Egg Hunt at Queens Park!
